This full-time occupational therapy position offers a rewarding opportunity to support K-12 students in an educational setting in Elgin, IL. The role is a contract assignment running from August 10, 2026, through May 25, 2027, with paid orientation occurring August 4-5. Both Occupational Therapists (OT) and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA) may be considered for this 37.5 hours per week position.
Responsibilities include enabling students to fully participate in classroom activities by addressing fine motor skills, visual-motor integration, sensory processing, and self-care abilities. You will modify tasks or environments to meet individual student needs and perform diagnostic and evaluation testing when necessary. Delivering clear, thorough reports based on assessments and observations is essential. The role involves developing and maintaining IEP objectives and accommodations, as well as collaborating with parents and educational peers to discuss student progress and needed interventions.
Qualified candidates must hold or be eligible for an Illinois state license and demonstrate strong communication skills. The ability to work effectively on a collaborative team, along with flexibility and problem-solving abilities, are key to succeeding in this role.
